Merry Christmas! #water #watersafety #crossconnect Merry Christmas! #water #watersafety #crossconnection #backflow #software #thankyou
I wanted to post these thoughts as they being a sm I wanted to post these thoughts as they being a smile and encouraging thoughts as we come to the close of 2020. Today a box containing a Christmas ornament arrived on my doorstep.
It would be an understatement to say I merely enjoy the ornaments crafted by the artisans at The CLAYWORKS. The CLAYWORKS is a local treasure located in Hutchinson Kansas that enables people with disabilities use there talents, be it clay, a pencil or brush and then retain the proceeds from the efforts as sale their creations. Even with all their personal challenges they bring beauty to the Christmas season through the senses of a person with truly special talents. I would like to say thank you for making my life and tree brighter with your special light! Both the snowman and Bethlehem ornament came from The CLAYWORKS. #thankyou #theclayworks #christmas #thanks #light #tree
The North Texas ABPA was gracious enough to allow The North Texas ABPA was gracious enough to allow TecNXS to host their February meeting. There were 60 attendees including water purveyors, business owners and technicians involved with backflow and cross connection control. TecNXS demonstrated AquaResource, our backflow registration and maintenance tracking software, to the audience via a live demonstration on their personal mobile devices. The demonstration was a success as AquaResource was very well received and 29 successful backflow test reports were submitted by those participating.
Additional meeting time was used to discuss challenges facing the industry. Recruitment and training of people interested in the backflow and cross connection control was mentioned. As in other construction and maintenance disciplines, employees aspiring to become a plumber, electrician, HVAC and backflow professional can be difficult to find.
Lastly, there was discussion on mandatory backflow preventer rebuild intervals and whether or not irrigation should be classified as a high health hazard. Neither one of these debates is foreign to me. In Wichita KS, where TecNXS is located, backflow devices have a 5 year rebuild interval and irrigation is classified as high hazard.
A friend of mine once told me; Backflow is the improbable chance that the unlikely will happen to the unsuspecting and I think that couldn’t be more true. #water #watersafety #backflow #crossconnection #abpa #potable #ict #wichita #tecnxs #software #purveyors

Why does AquaResource exist? The answer is Safe Dr Why does AquaResource exist? The answer is Safe Drinking Water matters! The following Boil Order advisory issued by a local rural water district, near Wichita, outlines the exact circumstances that demonstrate the need for cross connection control, backflow registration and maintenance tracking and AquaResource. May 8th in the early morning hours a mainline break caused the pressure in this water distribution system to dip below the required 20 psi at some locations. A Boil Order advisory was issued due to concerns about loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination. Unwanted backflow was not specifically mentioned as a risk but the opportunity exists. I suspect it is very difficult to prove the difference between bacteria entering the system through the breach or bacteria that was back siphoned into the system via a non-anti-siphon toilet filler or failed irrigation backflow. https://www.kwch.com/content/news/Boil-Water-Advisory-Issued-for-Sedgwick-Co-Rural-Water-District-3-509637661.html #crossconnection #backflow #tecnxs #leak #safewater #water #drinkingwater #distribution #chlorine #bacteria #purveyor #operator
Benton Kansas is a progressive rural community wit Benton Kansas is a progressive rural community with a large expanding rural water district and a jewel of a home town airport called Stearman Field (1K1). Be sure to visit the bar and grill if you’re ever in the area. From the moment I stepped into the Benton Kansas Rural Water District 5 office it was instantly apparent that they are no stranger to technology. They have invested heavily in supervisory control and data automation (SCADA) technology controlling everything from the water level in the towers to automatic chlorination based on flow rates with automatic sampling and charting. Their willingness to invest in technology is all based on the reality that automation frees up time. Time they have gotten back to do things for the district and their customer base like self installing waterline, in their expanding district, at great savings to themselves.

Licensed operator Terry Brown saw the opportunity to implement AquaResource, TecNXS’s Backflow Registration and Maintenance software as a timesaver. The most salient reason, he will no longer have to manually prepare and send out “Out of Compliance Notices” to customers who have not complied with annual testing or five-year rebuilds. Additionally, Terry mentioned that the software will help with system audits as backflow testers are required to measure static pressure and drop a GPS pin on each device before submitting test results.

Today AquaResource went live at the Benton Rural Water District 5. I would like to thank Terry Brown and Pat Shaffer for placing their trust in TecNXS. If this solution makes sense for your community there is a live demo at https:www.tecnxs.com/aquaresource-backflow-and-cross-connection-software/
